Carbon fiber filament is a composite material made by blending standard thermoplastic base resins (such as PLA, PETG, ABS, or Nylon/PA) with short chopped carbon fiber micro-strands to boost tensile strength, bending stiffness, and thermal resistance.

The addition of carbon fiber particles reduces thermal shrinkage, virtually eliminates warping, and disguises layer lines beneath an attractive, ultra-matte textured surface finish with high dimensional fidelity.
Nozzle Abrasion & Hardened Steel Requirements
Chopped carbon fibers are extremely abrasive. Standard brass nozzles will wear out and enlarge within a few hundred grams of CF printing. Operators must upgrade to hardened steel, tungsten carbide, or diamond-tipped nozzles.
