Enclosed CoreXY (Carbon Rods + Triple Z Screws)
Bambu Lab P1S & X1-Carbon Maintenance Guide: Carbon Rods, Lead Screws & Filters
The 3D Printing Glossary">Bambu Lab P1S and X1-Carbon are enclosed high-speed CoreXY machines. Unlike bed slingers, they utilize carbon fiber X-axis rods with self-lubricating graphite bushings, requiring specialized maintenance techniques.
Key Maintenance Principles
- CRITICAL: Carbon fiber X-axis rods must be cleaned with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) only. NEVER apply oil or grease!
- Steel Y-axis linear rods require light machine oil every 30 days.
- Triple 3D Printing Glossary">Z-axis lead screws require Lithium/PTFE grease every 90 days for synchronized bed lifting.
- Activated carbon chamber air filter must be replaced every 3-6 months when printing 3D Printing Glossary">ABS/ASA.
1
X Carbon Fiber Rods IPA Wipe-Down
Recommended Interval: Every 30 Days
Required Tools & Supplies:
99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)Dust-free Microfiber Cloth
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Power off the printer and allow toolhead to cool.
- Dampen a dust-free microfiber cloth with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.
- Firmly wipe the upper and lower carbon fiber rods along their entire length from left to right.
