Infill is the internal structure printed inside the solid outer walls (perimeters) of a 3D model. Instead of printing parts 100% solid, slicers generate hollow internal lattices with customizable percentage densities (typically 10%–25%) and geometric patterns.

Common infill geometries include Gyroid (uniform 3D strength in all directions without nozzle crossing), Grid (fast 2D structure), Honeycomb (high strength-to-weight ratio), and Adaptive Cubic (denser near top surfaces to minimize filament consumption).

Visual decorative figurines and display models typically use 10%–15% infill to minimize cost and print time. Functional mechanical brackets, gears, and outdoor fixtures benefit from 30%–50% Gyroid infill alongside 4–6 solid wall perimeters.
