Features Beyond Legacy STL
While STL files describe geometry using flat planar triangles, AMF introduces curved triangular patches for mathematically smooth surfaces without ballooning polygon counts. It also supports graded multi-material transitions and internal microstructure cavities.

Although 3MF has seen broader adoption among desktop slicers like Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer, AMF remains heavily utilized in aerospace, medical implant modeling, and academic additive manufacturing research.
