MakerWorld Estimator

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

MakerWorld Estimator ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with the MakerWorld Estimator browser extension for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

1. What Data We Collect

MakerWorld Estimator does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, sensitive user information, or browsing history. All operations are designed to protect user privacy:

  • Settings & Rates: Any custom configurations or rates you enter in the settings panel (such as printer hourly rates, material cost per gram, setup fees, labor fees, profit margins, and rounding choices) are stored strictly on your local device.
  • Model URLs: When you open the extension popup, the extension checks the URL of your active browser tab to extract the MakerWorld model ID. This check is performed entirely locally on your device.

2. How Data Is Stored

All user preferences, custom pricing rules, and settings are saved locally on your device using the browser's built-in local storage API (chrome.storage.local). We do not use database syncing or remote servers to store your preferences.

3. Third-Party Services

When you load the extension on a MakerWorld model page, the extension sends the extracted model ID to our scraper worker hosted at https://makerworld-scraper-worker.hirawat.workers.dev:

  • This worker is used solely to fetch public 3D model specifications (e.g., filament weight, print time, plates) from MakerWorld's public APIs.
  • The request does not include any user identifiers, cookies, IP trackers, or personal information.
  • No analytics tools or tracker SDKs are embedded in the extension.

4. Data Sharing

Since we do not collect any data, we do not share, sell, trade, or distribute any user information to third parties.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your configuration settings remain in your browser's local storage until:

  • You modify or reset them inside the settings panel.
  • You clear your browser cache or extension data.
  • You uninstall the extension.
